Leah Flugence | Co-High School Director

Leah Flugence joins Hope for Opelousas as High School Director, working alongside Tevin Duhon to encourage, guide, and invest in HFO’s oldest students. Born and raised in Broussard, Leah attended Comeaux High School, where she played basketball, and later continued playing at the college level in Victoria, Texas.

Leah’s faith and her passion for young people have shaped the direction of her life. Over the years, she continually found herself advocating for children and looking for opportunities to pour into the next generation. While praying for a place where she could put that calling into action, she discovered Hope for Opelousas and knew its mission aligned with her heart.

At HFO, Leah is most excited about building genuine relationships with students and helping them recognize their potential. She wants students to know they are deeply cared for while growing both academically and spiritually. She is equally committed to partnering with parents and families and approaching each student with consistency, encouragement, and a determination not to give up on them.

Outside of HFO, Leah enjoys basketball and football games, concerts, writing music, and ministering through poetry and Christian rap. Performing as Leah da Light, she uses music as another way to share her faith and encourage others.
